LOST

February 4th, 2010 by Max

Ok. I watched it.

I was a little disappointed. Now we have to keep track of two Jacks and two Kates and Two Sawyers and two time frames and Juliet is really dead and dead? And Jacob is really dead. (Really?) and Hurley is … is there one of them? Him? No there’s two and Awe Geeze I just wanted everyone to get together and be well and go figure out time travel and live happily ever after and now I have to pay attention.

I’m not looking forward to that!

But I’ll watch …

Oh yeah, and Kate didn’t even get wet!

Kate

Lost on LOST

March 20th, 2009 by Max

Why do some poeple come back to life, and others stay dead?  Now, Arzt aside, many people have died on the Island and they are still dead.

John from work suggests that if you die on the island you stay dead.  Maybe.

And how did Dr. Richard Alpert get on the Island, after he got off it?  We think he is the key!  John thinks he may be an ancient Egyptian!

Cool.

Wait a minute

March 6th, 2009 by Max

I thought Sawyer and the gang were in 1974.  And now its three years later and Kate is back in 2009?  Or is it 2012?

My name is LOST

February 19th, 2009 by Max

So last nights episode was a disappointment.

We start with the eye.  Jack on the Island.  Cool.  But then we go back and learn very little while we live/relive what we know is going to happen.

It left a lot of questions.  When did Sayid get arrested?  Why did Hurley bring the guitar?  (John thinks its because he saw Charlie) and the irresponsible absence of Aaron.

Yes there was the myster of Ben and being bloodied and Ben’s having threatened Charles Widmore’s daughter.  Is Penny alive?  I think he’ll use her to get Desmond back on the island.

We know they’re in 1988 with Jin.  Or at least they are with Jin.  The microbus looked in good shape.  Maybe Jin moved back into the 1950′s with them.

It was better that they didn’t explain the science of how they found the place in time.

I still say that they caved to Religon, in the Religion vs Science debate.  Clearly Locke is coming back from the dead to save the world.  How lame.  I just hope that they at least balance it out with a little of “it could have never happened without science”.

The other day a few weeks ago I was watching My Name Is Earl.   Joy and Darnell had to move away because Darnell is in the witness protection program and when Joy lost it on National TV in an episoded of Estrada Or Nada Darnell had to hold her back and got on the camera!

I knew that they would find a way to bring the two of them back into the show.  They’re just too cool? Odd? Quirky, to not have on anymore.  Today Danny Glover shows up as Darnell’s spy father who trick’s Earl and Joy and Randy into leading him right to Darnell whom he plans on killing because Darnell was really a spy who would not assasinate a 9 year old kid who was the Socialist head of state who wanted to nationalize the diamond mines!

Now that’s some plot twisting!

I hope next weeks LOST is better.

Rousseau

February 5th, 2009 by Max

Ok.  So.  We knew that Jin was alive.  I forget how we knew, but we just knew.

And John says, I think correctly, that Sun is the one who is after Kate’s baby.

These two ideas are connected because Sun thinks Jin is dead.

I even get that Rousseau should show up.  Though I can’t say that I expected it.  I DO know that all of her people die and that she’s gonna have a baby … she’s preggers already … which means that Ben is not really the father.  Although I suspect he virutally adopts, Danielle Rousseau’s kid.

I get the fact that the less time you’ve had on the Island, the more you’re likely to get a nosebleed.

So why is Juliet getting a nosebleed?

Science vs Faith

January 24th, 2009 by Max

Here’s my latest take on LOST:

It appears that Locke is right, and that faith is the answer. The only way that the world can be right again, is if the Oceanic 6 have faith in the Island. They show this by going back!

It looks like faith is winning. Locke is Jesus after all! And he will be coming back from the dead

But its really science, because Dr Jack saves the world by bringing the Oceanic 6 back to the Island. The thing of it is, is, he HAS to save the Island because he DID save the Island because he did and science can prove it. And we have Dr Faraday (great name btw) for that. Space time must do what we need to have done, because it was already done in space time. He already HAS saved the world.

Ego science wins QED!

But they’ll wimp out and say that the science proves the faith and faith proves the science.

LOST is back

January 22nd, 2009 by Max

I’d almost forgotten all about it.  I watched the retrospective with what I assume was Damon Lindlehoff and JJ Abrams talking about the previous and upcoming seasons.  It made things clearer.

So now I think I get it that:

Ben is the one that put the wreckage at the bottom of the ocean.  Maybe he used dead Dharma people.  And that his daughter wasn’t really supposde to get killed and that Sayid will regret the day he started working for Ben.

That Widmire really has the best interests of the island at heart (guess) and that he will eventually get our friends off the island by taking it out of the ‘skipping’ that’s going on but that they really do have to go back.

The producers said that this would be a season of much more action and story resolution.

But right now we know that Linus has to get all the people together in the next 70 hours which will be tough because they’re still resistance and separated.  And that when they do all get on a plane (naturally) to get to the Island, the next problem will be finding it!

So TELL me.  What don’t I get?

I’m a loyal LOST watcher – but I’d watch Kate if she wasn’t doing anything.  I like the characters.  With time and obfuscation, sometimes I’ve Lost the plot.

What you YOU think?  What am I missing?

I’m LOST

June 2nd, 2008 by Max

Johnny9K suggested we open a column just for Comments and Questions on LOST. What a great idea. I’m so messed up just trying to remember the stories [the writer's strike really hurt my catching up] and the characters, that I’ve totally fallen behind in my guessing the future [so to speak].

John suggests this link. Here it is again.

http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/research/4266329.html?series=6

Our conversation the other day wound around to this question. If EVERYone has to go back, including some dead John Locke, and little Aaron, will Desmond have to go back too? He wasn’t one of the Oceanic 6, but then neither was John Locke!

And while we’re at it. Why do they have to go back? Is it physics?  Is the island/worm hole balanced for just the number of people?  When did it get “balanced”?  When the hatch blew?  What was the result of the hatch blowing?  Nothing?  Or did I just forget….
